Role Overview
This is a is a pivotal leadership role responsible for defining and executing the technology strategy and systems architecture. The CTO will drive key strategic initiatives, ensuring that the technology stack and business systems are optimized for innovation, security, and alignment with the product vision and roadmap. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to build and coach a high-performing technology team and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure Home-in has well-defined and fit-for-purpose technology strategy and systems architecture
Set and drive the agenda for key strategic initiatives
Architect and evolve the core tech stack for mobile and web apps – optimizing for developer experience, innovation and security while ensuring alignment with product vision and roadmap
Architect and evolve business systems for customer management/interactions, process management, marketing automation/data analysis and financial management – optimising for user efficacy, business automation and security
Lead software delivery and systems automation
Build and coach a capable and effective technology team, using a blend of internal engineers, remote engineers, and system specialists/partners; in doing so support, advise and guide the wider Home-in team on critical technology related decisions and action
Maintain a modern development process that supports efficient development and testing, with inbuilt quality and security checks for shipping to production
Collaborate with product and design leaders to shape and execute the product roadmap
Collaborate with Product and Operations leaders to streamline business processes and increase automation across all areas of customer service delivery
Provide thought leadership to the team and meaningful ways to solve problems
Develop and evolve effective instrumentation of user experience and systems performance
Implement and evolve monitoring and alerting systems; an effective response capability; and appropriate DR and BCP capabilities
Establish and evolve patterns for ‘security-by-design’ in development and production environments; and oversee Home-in SecOps capability
Understand and align to the CBA Group’s/X15’s security requirements, and gain support for appropriate changes or allowances that enable better solutions achieving risk outcomes
Effectively engage with technology partners and managed service providers
Build Commbank's profile as a software engineering employer of choice.
Experience
Proven experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or similar leadership role in a fast-paced environment.
Full stack technology experience including React, Nextjs, Typescript, JavaScript, Node
Experience in mobile applications and deployments
Experience in cloud technology including AWS or Azure
Someone who believes in product engineering and making a big impact
Proven expertise in architecture and system design
Proven leadership in people management plus optimising existing processes
Track record of successfully leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
Experience in scaling technology for high-growth businesses.
Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Project administration and managing high performing teams
